She's TWO

I just noticed I pretty much took a year off from the blog, OMG someone knock some sense into me. That is so unacceptable!!! There's far too much to catch up on, so we are starting fresh with Kenna is TWO. Yes she it is true, on August 10th she turned TWO, 2, Dos, Deux, Dwa, To, Due!!!! Ahhhhh Where did the time go.

Kenna (aka "me me", "nenna", "kenna kenna bo benna", doodle bug) - full of smiles, laughs, giggles, butt shaking dance moves, singer of "Mean" by Taylor Swift, waterskiing, bike riding, strong willed, determined, liker of her "own" space, independent, loud, outspoken, princess who loves the sandbox, trampoline, swing, water, her mom and dad, sometimes her brother and sister (as long as it's on her terms) despite the fact that they truly adore her, anti-sharer, adorer of her grandma's and grandpa's, marker colorer on everything including herself, dolls, toys, walls and occasionally paper. Two to Four hour napper, nuk lover, baby doll mama, blankie carrier (2 of them), crib sleeper, big hug giver, sloppy kiss giver, grandpa Danny snuggler (aka pumpkin for a while), food addicted and sticker reward recipient for being potty trained. Favorite words are "no, mine", "more", "I do it", "I go outside", "I ski", "please", "where daddy? where mama?", "daddy go to work, work daddy work", "I tired, I go night night", "play angwy birds, I play angwy birds", "I talk to grandma" (maybe you've noticed the trend in all of this, LOL), "no Kinsey, bad girl" (often said if Kinsey looks at her or sits by her or tries to play with her) and "no Abby, no Decoy, my food, gooooooo". LOL I will admit, I have heard her say "no doggies bad, shut up" before, I have no clue where she has heard that before I swear!!! This girl is truly her mama's daughter, she NEVER stops talking, NEVER!!! And if you don't respond when she talks to you, she'll just keep repeating herself.

For Kenna's birthday we took the kids to the Minnesota Zoo. Chad's mom also joined us. Although we assumed it would be pretty quiet there on a Wednesday, it was just the opposite, it was packed. It truly didn't matter, we had a lovely time. The kids were amazing to watch! Even though we brought the stroller, Kenna decided it was much nicer being carried by dad or "I walk"! The dolphin show was hilarious to watch the kids' expressions. Kenna was "I scared" and clung tight to Chad and Trina, I video'd and snapped pictures through the whole show so we could remember the day forever! Unfortunately the Grizzly Bears were not out, we were hoping to see them. I can say I am not overly impressed with the Minnesota Zoo, but the animals truly have it nice there, lots of extra natural space for them to live in!
After the zoo we headed home for dinner, presents and cake. We also seem to keep birthday's pretty small, usually just family and a few friends once in a while. With all the busy activities of the day we decided small was good, so Chad's dad met us back at our house. I made Kenna's cake the night before, which I completely thought would be a hit, well, her first reaction was, "I scared" LOL. Not what I was going for, but honestly a priceless moment. After dinner Kenna opened presents one at a time, Cole and Kinsey were so excited because they each picked out something for Kenna.
So this is the start of keeping everyone updated again!

I officially miss my blog!!!

It has often been neglected, often been forgotten, but I now realize after reading back through old posts how much I cherish the posts. The reminder of what we were doing then, time sure flies, how quickly we forget.

So, I am going to get our lives more organized! Then I can keep this updated more often, selfishly I do this for myself if no one else reads it. hahaha This is such a great way for our family to look back at what we were doing, so I MUST make time for it. With our family and friends so spread out, I WILL make time!

..... May 1st let the blogging begin .....

Ahhhhhhhh

Ok Ok Ok, I know, I SUCK at keeping everyone updated. This fall has been insane for us. Chad and I seem to be working all the time, thank goodness for Chad's parents helping with the kids and now my mom has been staying with us for the past 5 weeks. And yet things still are not slowing down. I have so much to share and so little time. So, after the holidays, I'm tackling getting everyone up to date on what's been happening around her.

For now, here's a link to the University of Wisconsin-Stout hockey fan site. Maybe you'll recognize a little guy on there ;0)Stout Hockey

3 wishes

This morning Kinsey and I were working on her poster for school and it has a place for her to put her 3 wishes.

Her wishes in order were as follows.
1. I wish I had a unicorn horse.
2. I wish to be a pretty princess.
3. I wish Cole will be my best friend forever.

Talk about melting my heart!!! I love that our kids are so close, they truly adore each other and I am so proud. Kinsey watches Cole get on the school bus every day and says, "I'm sure gonna miss Cole". And when Cole gets home from school he jumps out of the FJ and runs to the house to see Kinsey and Kenna or if we pick him up he gives them each a hug first thing. Yep, did I say school. That's right, you read it correctly, Cole is in Kindergarten this year. Choking back the tears. Here's a recap.
Lil Miss Kenna turned "1", yes ONE, on August 10th. I cannot believe it. She's a walking, babbling, 3 toothed, smiling monster now. LOL We refer to her as "the destroyer" or "King Kong" because she loves to wreck anything and everything the kids build.

{She loves to say... hi which kind of sounds like eye, bye, bah bye, dadda, daaaaad, daaaaa, mamma, ma, mom, puppy, hot which is ot, up, down, more, uh oh, out, nigh nigh for night night} She also picks up the phone and says hi and bye. LOL She also is by far the bossiest out of the 3, how is that possible and has started throwing herself on the floor in a temper tantrum. Oh boy. But she's so smiley and so bubbly, thank goodness she has a great personality most of the time to make up for the part monster she is too. hahaha
I turned choke gag 31 August 22nd also. shhhhhh

Princess Kinsey started another year of preschool at Our Saviors yesterday. I will say this many times throughout the year but we cannot be more thrilled to have our kids a part of the preschool program at Our Saviors. The teachers are amazing and when I barely walk in the door and Kinsey has taken off running to go hug her teachers you know you've got something good :o) But it's not just the fact that the kids have loved it at Our Saviors, it's truly what they have taken away from being a part of their school that has really been amazing. Kinsey has also started dance {ballet and tap} at Jewelry Box Dancer. I could've cried watching Kinsey on her first day. She was so happy! She smiled the entire time and her face just glowed with excitement and love. She stayed focused the entire time and listened to her teacher Miss Callie the entire time. I was so proud of her and I am so excited every week for her to go! She learned postion 1, 2, 3, releve, pleye (I have no clue how to spell that and an arabesque the first night and she has been practicing them every day since :o).
Mr Cole turned "6" on August 31st. Ugh my oldest is SIX already. And the very next day he started Kindergarten. I was truly devastated, my oldest starting school, I wasn't ready, although he was ready, I wasn't ready. I have always been home with the kids and though there are days I'd like to ship them all to the moon, I am so fortunate to be home with them. And I wasn't ready to let him go...until I saw how ready he was to go! In one day he matured years, he was ready, he was independent, determined, excited and eager to learn, to be at school, to be a big kid. He wanted to ride the bus right away, but I told him he had to break me in slowly and at least let me take him the first couple days. He was ok with that, but come Tuesday he was ready to ride the bus and that he did, like he'd always has. I am SO glad we gave him another year before putting him in Kindergarten, see the cutoff is September 1st here, so he turned 5 the day before and could've started, but we decided to give him another year to mature, to grow, to prepare and seeing the confidence he has now and how he handles things I am SO glad we did. Cole has been racing his dirt bike a lot this summer. And he continues to get faster and faster on it. He will race an indoor circuit this winter at an indoor arena not far from us. He will also be starting hockey in a couple weeks.
OK, I'll start with that novel and do what I can to fill in any holes from being MIA as we go. LOL

and he picked his number

Which is a combination of his favorite number because Chad Reed is #22 and the #5 because he is 5 years old when he starts racing (a great suggestion by my friend Sarah. So, I ordered him his number plate on Thursday afternoon from Rusk Racing and had it arrived in the mail on Saturday, I was shocked. Cole (and maybe just a little bit of his mom) wanted it on the bike like ummmm right away, LOL.

Then Kinsey decided that she should hold the umbrella over Cole's head so I could get a picture of it. hahaha Too funny! Then she decided she needed a picture with her bike too. Although I think she'll do more umbrella holding than riding. :o)

Saturday Cole finally tried out his new wakeboard too and popped right up. I did not have my camera with, so now pics of that. Kinsey skied on the training ski all over the lake and all she keeps yelling now is "faster, faster, go faster" and she gives us the thumbs up. We also had our dear friend Troy and his girlfriend Jess come visit. It was so nice to see Troy (for those who don't know, Troy also used to race snowmobiles when we did which turned into a lifelong friendship, he was also a groomsman in our wedding too), the kids adore him and we don't get to see him much since he's on the other side of the state. Jess is such a sweetie too, we really enjoyed having them both over and spending time with them.

On Sunday Chad's mom came up to watch Kenna so Chad, the other two and I could go see Toy Story 3 in 3D. It was super cute, loved the adult humor that flew right over Cole and Kinsey's head, but I am shocked that we dropped $50 to see it. Holy smokes, that's why we don't go to the movies very often. So glad that Trina was willing to come up and watch Kenna because it was really fun watching the kids faces while they watched the movie, so priceless in the end.

Kenna got her first ponytail Sunday for the fun of it. And Kinsey was being silly.
